The bandwidth our customers use is the costliest part of the service, and, to be fair to all we have a "fair usage policy". This policy is not set in stone as yet, but if you are a Trial User then you are limited to a maximum of 500MB per day - which is still a lot! If you exceed that limit as a Trial User, your account may be suspended or deactivated altogether. You will be notified of this via email.

To explain what we mean by bandwidth you need to understand that data travels both ways - from your PC/Laptop/Netbook to a web server and the web server feeds responses and data back to your machine. The uk:anon service provides a two-way secure SSL tunnel between your PC and the servers in our datacenter - so both sets of data travel through the datacenters. This data is measured in bytes -

1 Byte = 8 Bits
1 Kilobyte = 1024 Bytes
1 Megabyte = 1048576 Bytes
1 Gigabyte = 1073741824 Bytes

Our servers monitor on a daily basis the data requested by each customer, is summarised and displayed under your "my account, bandwidth" menu section  - see sample below.
